I’ve been playing a lot of Hitman lately so I’ve been thinking of the overall story of the series. I don’t know the story of C47 as well as I do the other games as I never played it, but I did watch a let’s play a while back. And while I have Hitman 2 I haven’t played any of the levels besides NZ yet as I’ve been busy redoing the legacy missions, so no spoilers please if my question’s explained in the plot of H2.
But anyway, I’ve been under the impression that the training missions of H2016/H2 take place after the events of C47 but before the events of SA, because the dialogue in the intro cutscene seems to suggest that 47 has already performed the hits of C47. But I just realised that doesn’t make sense because wasn’t 47 already working for the ICA in C47? Am I just wrong about the timeframe or has the plot been retconned?
Also, thinking about the origin story got me thinking about the plot of SA, which I know better than C47. My understanding of the origin story/plot of C47 is that 47 was cloned from five prolific killers, put to work as a contract killer, tricked into murdering his genetic “fathers”, finds that out, gets angry, returns to his place of “birth” and kills Ort-Meyer, his creator. In SA he has attempted to retire but gets pulled out of retirement due to a plot from Ort-Meyer’s brother involving kidnapping Vittorio. But then why would 47 even want to keep working for the agency that had him kill his “fathers”? Was Ort-Meyer in charge of/working for the ICA, or did he just contract them to perform the hits?
