And, a Hitman fleur de lis badge, in a similar style to that of the Master Assassin badge.

Missions
Would be released as a free DLC to owners of HITMAN 2
REMASTER OF FIRST EVER HITMAN MISSION (Training, C47 or Kowloon Triads in Gang War)
REMASTER OF COMMUNITY CHOSEN MISSION (whichever mission gains the most support e.g The Meat Kings Party)
MISSION IN ICA FACILITY because, why not?

Other Stuff
A BOOK possibly detailing all of 47’s missions, each with some nice art, a screenshot, and a briefing
SOMETHING ELSE what do you think???
Low poly C47 suit (thanks to @Spods)

Fictional deaths or accidents worthy of Hitman

This came to me a little while ago, where I was watching something on TV where a character died and another almost died in ways that would have been pretty sweet in a Hitman game, and would have fit right in. So I figured I’d list some other examples of such deaths here and let others put theirs.

The plastic eyes jammed into real eye sockets on the doll assembly line in Child’s Play 2.

The wasp inside the scuba tank in Anaconda.

The tanning bed burning in Final Destination 3.

The frozen face smash in Jason X.

The four shots to the face through a smothering pillow in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

The van crashing into a toxic waste container in Robocop.

The face smashed with an iron in Home Alone.

The speargun to the eyeball in Friday the 13th Part 3.

The snapped high tension wire in Die Hard With A Vengeance.

I was wondering if you had any cool fights (in Hitman) that with proper camerawork, would have looked like a movie?

I was in Marrakech and decided to throw the beggar/fortune teller a hand grenade, fired at the witnesses and ran through the crowds to shoot some searching guards. It all looked very nice, but then I got into some cover. Guards ran from the school and shot out the pots above me, but I had no other cover. A group of about 7 soldiers ran from the school, one throwing a flash grenade. I couldn’t move so got blinded by the grenade, but a soldier stormed my cover and I ran out and just sprayed the group of soldiers. I see explosions and smoke everywhere. As the screen clears, I see a soldier being electrocuted.

I walk over and they are all dead. It seemed I had shot motorbikes which exploded killing the majority of the guards, and also a extension cord in a puddle (the cause of the electrocuted guard). It was awesome, sadly I couldn’t record it.

Share some of yours (if you have video is even better)

Hitman on the Next Generation of Consoles

During E3 this year, Microsoft teased some info about their next console, codenamed Project Scarlett. They have stated that Scarlett’s release window is Holiday 2020, and presumably, Sony’s next console will have a similar release date too. So I am curious to see how this effects Hitman.

Presumably, if Hitman 3 is going to be the next entry in the World of Assassination, I would assume it would be released both on PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Xbox 4. I am curious though to see how this would work though. Hitman 3’s appeal is that it would be compatible with Hitman and Hitman 2, so would we see some sort of release for those 2 games on newer hardware? Hell, maybe even give away Season 1 by this point to incentivice people to buy Hitman 3.

I feel like some sort of compilation release would also be inevitable. Maybe bundle Hitman 1 and 2 together before 3 comes out? I think once Hitman 3 and all of its DLC is out, we’d eventually see a massive bundle with all of that content once the “live service” has basically ended.

I am curious to see what would happen. Any thoughts on this.

Does 47 kill target humanely? 47 kill target in garden shred or kill first, then shred? Maybe target close to fireplace, below chandelier, wold he put propane down fireplace which very painful but faster or wuld he avoid painful and find way to drop heavy chandelier which less painful. I see 47, even if clone made for kill, i see he a man with some moral. Like gived many money to church, or he wuld possebly tell kid to not use drug.

Originally the sexual themes weren’t used for for shock value or fan service. The dark and seedy underworld of drugs, strippers, prostitutes and sexual deviants where all portrayed as something negative. An example is the Meat Kings party level in Contracts shows that people that are into bdsm and serial killers share the same fetish. Another example is the opera house in Bloodmoney where there where two gay child molesters. That was one of the darker scenarios in the Hitman series. After that Absolution would take in a more light hearted direction.

[PC Guide] Ansel Unlock

@misterkiller wrote:

I finally learned how to unlock Ansel in HITMAN and want to share this simple way with all of you.
Credits for the text to replace goes to @Urben and @Notex , thanks for this.

First and main thing:
You have to own NVIDIA graphics card that supports Ansel for this to work.
If you have graphics card of other vendor or your card does not support Ansel, this guide will not work for you

Let’s go

  1. Find, download and install any HEX editor.
In this guide I will show how to unlock Ansel in Hex Editor Neo, but you may use any editor you want.

  2. After installing HEX editor open it.

  3. In the main window find the Open button

  4. Push that Open button and window will appear.

In that window follow the path to where your game is installed.
Highlithed part of the path in the pic will be different for you, but all the rest will be the same if you use DX12:
    HITMAN\steamapps\common\HITMAN2\dx12Retail
If you use DX11 the path will be:
    HITMAN\steamapps\common\HITMAN2\Retail
but you know, I recommend to edit both files, no harm will be done
  5. Find HITMAN2.exe file and click OK (or Open) as shown on a pic above

  6. This file will be opened and you will see a lot of numbers there

  7. In the upper menu of the program click Edit and there find an option Find…
Or just apply a key combination Ctrl+F

  8. A window will open
    hexfind
In this window firstly select Hex in highlithed drop-down list

  9. Manually type 83 F8 0F 75 1C 0F 54 as shown on a pic

  10. After you click Find button it should jump you to needed area

  11. Should be highlighed with green the first digit - 83.
Further in this row find 75 and click once on it, it should be highlighted now as shown on a pic above.

  12. Replace this highlighted number with EB by just typing on your keyboard
It may type in a lower case, don’t worry, it will still work

  13. After replacing is done, save the file

  14. After clicking Save button the window will appear
    hexyes
    Confirm saving by clicking Yes

  15. That’s all. Hex editor can be closed.
If you did everything correctly from now on you can use Ansel in free camera mode and fly over all the map wherever you want

Note:
You may need to do all this again to unlock Ansel again after each game update.

Hope I described everything more than clear, so no questions should left.
But if you still have any questions, feel free to post them here.

Welcome to the free Ansel camera mode!

The Hitman series post the Providence trilogy

@Mads47 wrote:

So for a long time I been thinking about Hitmans future post the Providence Trilogy (the current storyline), where I think the franchise should go and what It should execute. Things I want added and things I think I should let go off.

With H16 and H2 IO brought the franchise back loser to the model that many think IO perfected with Blood Money. A more open approach then the more linear Absolution, however not forgetting the things Absolution got right.

Music
Even though I love the current two games and their approach to the world and characters, there is still something I find lacking, something essential. Like a Big Mac without the Big Mac Sauce. In this regard the Big Mac Sauce is the music.

With Absolution IO tried something new, instead of a more traditional soundtrack, they chose a dynamic soundtrack. A soundtrack tailored to your actions. This idea carried over to the current version of the games, but in my eyes or rather ears. Something is missing, something that use to a pillar within the series pre Absolution. A real soundtrack.

Jesper Kyd brought us of the most memorable videogame music, not just with Hitman but with other big franchises like Assassin’s Creed. With each Hitman game he scored, he tried something different, sometimes playing with genres. The current soundtracks I don’t consider memorable, the most memorable piece of ingame music I can recall from Hitman post BM is the Inception horns from Absolution and that doesn’t say much.

Hitman: The Composer Strikes Back

It doesn’t have to be Jesper Kyd, even if he is my preferred choice. But With the H16 and Legacy trailer IO proved they where able to still create memorable music that fits the series and I’m left wondering if the Dynmaic soundtrack got more pros then cons.

I have come to a point while playing the games, where I turn the ingames music off and plays past Hitman soundtracks in the background. I have come to the conclusion that it enhances and enriches my experience, something the current soundtrack havn’t been able to do.

In my eyes IO have forgotten how important a prober soundtrack is, I can only applaud them for trying the dynamic soundtrack, it’s an interesting idea. However the current soundtracks havn’t really created a lot of buzz inside or outside the community and that is a shame, because it use to be something that got a lot of attention in the past.

Rubber Allergy

I have developed a digital rubber allergy in the last few years, this might just be my nitpick. But I’m extremely tired of the fucking rubber ducks that seems to have come with a tsunamie and washed over 47 arsenal.

With the current presence of Rubber Ducks I’m left wondering if 47 have developed a fetish for the small ducks and why we have yet to see a Rubber Duck tie? I understand why they are there, it’s a bit of dark humor. Turning something innocent into something sinister. However it seems to me that IO have forgotten the rubber ducks role and overplayed their part.

The Rubber Duck was first introduced with Codename 47. It was actually a fetch quest in the second last level. A trade for information to gain access to the lower levels of Ort-meyers Asylum front. Onward the ducks showed both ingame and in marketing campaigns

image

Back then it wasn’t 47 who loved the little duck and left them all over the place like a signature sign. It was a little dark humor in a ridiculous dark world centered around killing for money. However right now 47 got countless of rubber ducks in his arsenal. It’s now more or less become more of a signature weapon for 47 then the Sliverballers. That is certainly the impression i’m left with since they are now so present in everything Hitman. All from Collectors edition items, to marketing. Hell even the Hitman Critical Collection LP got a rubber duck as it’s cover

image

It’s almost become an expression of 47’s dark humor and not the world around him. This is here where I ultimately think IO have misunderstod it’s role and overplayed their hand. It use to be a fun nod towards the past, but now it developed into something different.

I hope that going forward from the Providence Trilogy, that their role and presence becomes a lot more downplayed.

Old man 47

47 is 55 years old in the current storyline, I kinda want to see a more old man 47. I don’t think it robs 47 character of anything as portraying him at his current age, it would even add to the character. Absolution did this, he looked more grizzled. His body showed sign of trauma, his body reflected his job. He looked like a experienced man, a man who learned from his mistakes. 47 looks a lot better in H2 then he did at the start of H16. But I still think putting him closer to his actually age would enrich the character.

image
image
image

This is just on the top of my mind, something that have been bording me for the last few years. Things I hope IO adresses in future titles when they are done with this current storyline.

I’m a bit on the fence if they should go under General discussion or wish list, it can serve as both.

47's Actual Job Title

$

@TeenTyrant002 wrote:

This is another long essay post of mine, but it’s about a topic that I’ve been very interested in for a long time and wanted to share. Hope it’s a good read and hope you have some points of your own to make as well.

So, a couple of weeks back, I posted a poll in the Yes or No? thread about what the most accurate term is for 47’s professional title. We know the series title is Hitman, of course - probably because calling it Assassin or having assassin in the title was too cliche’ or bland. The word hitman has a more specific meaning, but how accurate is it? The five choices listed in the poll of 47’s job description were: 1) Assassin, 2) Hitman, 3) Contract Killer, 4) Hired Gun, and 5) Mercenary. Let’s take a look at these terms, what they mean, how they apply to 47, and which one he actually is, or if he’s some combination of more than one.

The word assassin, in modern popular usage, implies someone who kills another person on behalf of a third person who is not doing the deed themselves for whatever reason. This is not always the case, however. A person can choose to assassinate someone themselves. The key to being an assassin is that you are killing a specific person for a specific reason, with the killing in-and-of itself not being the reason. For example, a serial killer could be an assassin if they killed someone for a reason other than the gratification they get from the act of killing. When they normally kill someone, they do so because the act of killing is both the means and the ends. While they typically target a certain type of person, a killer who kills regularly simply for the sake of killing to achieve personal gratification does not typically target specific individuals because they are that specific individual, but rather a certain type of person.

Meanwhile, an assassin kills a person because something else is to be gained from their death other than gratification. They may do the deed themselves because they want it done, or they may do so on behalf of another person who wants them to do it. They may choose to do so in exchange for money or favors or some other form of payment, or they may do so because they are committed to a cause, be it religious, moral, or political.

Agent 47 is definitely this, and while he has not really killed anyone for religious, moral, or political reasons, he has done so for both money and because he believes in certain causes that justify his target’s death when he’s not receiving payment. So, while it might not be the most accurate term applied to him the majority of the time, 47 is most definitely an assassin.

Next up, the word hitman. It’s the title of the game, as mentioned, and it seems the obvious pick for what 47 is; at least, that’s how I had always understood it. A hitman, according to modern popular usage, is a person who commits an act of murder, always on behalf of another individual, and does so in exchange for payment of some kind for that specific murder, be it money, favors, or the like. An agreement is struck that the hitman will perform the killing - or “hit” - on the selected target and get this payment in return, either before or after the hit is performed, making it an unofficial contractual agreement between the two parties.

However, there is also another interpretation for the word’s meaning. A hitman can also be described as a member of organized crime who commits an act of murder on behalf of a higher ranking member of their organization, but without being compensated for that specific murder. For example; if a member of a mafia family, who runs an auto shop for the organization and is paid directly by them, is contacted by the Capo and ordered to kill a specific person on behalf of the family, that person may perform the hit without being specifically paid for the act, because they are not operating “freelance.” The hitman in this case is already someone who works for the mafia; they are already being paid a regular salary by them. Carrying out the hit in this context is just considered part of their regular job duties; the are the go-to person to take someone out, but since they’re already employed, they don’t necessarily have to receive special compensation for it. They are still doing it because it’s a job that they receive money for, but it’s part of their regular salary; they’ll be paid whether they are asked to kill someone or not.

Because some form of payment is involved either way, under both definitions of the term, every hitman is an assassin, but not every assassin is a hitman. Agent 47 usually operates under the first definition of the word, but to all knowledge, has never operated under the second definition. While he has sometimes committed murder on behalf of the ICA and others without a client being attached other than the Agency itself, as far as we know, he was still paid directly from the ICA’s accounts in exchange for his service in these specific cases. The only known example I can think of where he may have been the second type of hitman was when he killed the man who delivered the Code Red contract briefing in Blood Money, assuming that the fact it was a Code Red meant he was supposed to kill that man, rather than taking it upon himself to do so, and further assuming that if he was supposed to, that the ICA did not give him a bonus for doing it. So while 47 is better described specifically as a hitman than an assassin, the fact that he’s not a hitman through-and-through by all definitions leaves it debatable of whether this is the most accurate term for him.

Moving on to the third term, let’s look at Contract Killer. A contract killer is, for all intents and purposes, the same as the first definition of hitman, and that’s all. A contract killer, as the name suggests and by its whole definition, kills people on behalf of another individual in exchange for payment as part of a contractual agreement between the two. The term is usually interchangeable with hitman in modern popular usage, but because hitman can have a second meaning to it, they are not necessarily the same thing, at least not all the time. Every contract killer is a hitman, but every hitman may not be a contract killer. Because this one is slightly more specific than hitman, having only a single definition that basically describes 47’s entire career, it could be said that 47 is more of a contract killer than a hitman, at least most of the time. Because of those instances, rare as they are, where he has performed an assassination without receiving any kind of compensation, this provides an exception to him being labeled a strict contract killer. Still, the majority of our time with him, even with overarching conspiracy plotlines, has been with him accepting contracts from his employers to kill specific people in exchange for money, so although it’s not true 100% of the time, it could be said that contract killer is the more accurate term to use when referring to 47, slightly more so than hitman, and even more so than assassin.

The term Hired Gun, while similar to the three we’ve already covered, particularly the second definition of hitman, it is actually the least accurate term to use for 47. A hired gun is used like a personal assassin who is paid to kill on behalf of their employer, but they function in this role more like a security force or body guard. Hired guns are more likely to accompany their employer where they go, and kill those who oppose or attack their employer, or anyone else whom the employer commands them to kill. This is usually accomplished by them simply shooting the target dead on the spot immediately after they are given the order. As far as I can tell, Agent 47 has never performed this role, and is not to be considered a hired gun.

Finally, let’s look at Mercenary. A mercenary is essentially a hired soldier, who is paid to carry out either killings or other illegal operations on behalf of another party. They are similar to paid assassins in this regard, but their job may not necessarily require them to kill someone, and when it does, it is not always as an assassination attempt; sometimes mercenaries are used to basically fight a war on behalf of someone, so they would kill anyone on the opposing side, not just specific targets for specific reasons. In this case, not every mercenary is an assassin, and not every assassin is a mercenary. Despite the similarities, they are two different, distinct professions.

However, 47 has technically functioned as a mercenary, when looking at the events of HITMAN 2 through a very specific lens. Providence is basically hiring 47 to fight their war against the Shadow Client for them, and so he could be considered as operating like a mercenary in a highly technical and specific consideration of the term when compared to his actions. Beyond this, however, 47 has never really performed mercenary work, since his services are specific to killings. Yes, he has been given other tasks to perform, such as destroying data or stealing items, but these were all in conjunction with the executing of a selected target, and so were secondary in nature.

So, in conclusion, Agent 47 can accurately be described as an assassin, a hitman, and a contract killer. But, of the three, the one that seems the most accurate most of the time due to its very specific definition when held alongside 47’s actions, is contract killer. 47 is primarily a contract killer, while also being a hitman and assassin when defined in broader terms. Basically, as far as our favorite bald clone is concerned: Contract killer > hitman > assassin.

A platform for sharing, rating and discovering quality Hitman contracts

@happyentropy wrote:

Hey forum, long-time lurker here.

After completing all “official” content in Hitman and Hitman 2 I’m looking to contracts to keep the magic going. There are a lot of good contracts scattered in various HMF threads and Reddit discussions. Unfortunately the game doesn’t provide effective tools to find these gems among the huge amount of low-effort content.

I’m a freelance web developer and have been thinking about a project to help the community (and myself) with finding and discussing great player-created contracts. I would appreciate your feedback on the idea.

The Pitch

The “Contracts” feature of Hitman (2) is a great way to keep playing after exhausting all the official content. However, discovering good contracts is difficult.

  • Majority are low-effort or test contracts.
  • The “Most Played” and “Trending” categories favors low-effort contracts aimed at specific challenges and achievements.
  • Contracts need to be manually ported to each platform.
  • No way subscribe to players who create high-quality content.

The idea: create a web-based platform for sharing, rating and discovering great user-created contracts.

Features

Show proposed features

Registering

  • Register/Login via third-party provider.
    • Steam
    • Reddit
    • Google/YouTube?
    • Twitch?
    • Discord?
    • Microsoft Live?
  • No email/password login for the first version, keeping things simple.

Contracts

  • Adding contracts
    • Enter ID, briefing, targets, complications.
    • System will determine contract platform and destination based on ID.
  • Porting contracts to other platforms
    • Allow users to copy/port contracts to other platforms.
    • Get detailed steps on how to reproduce the original contract (target order, etc.)
    • Users may add ported contract IDs to original contract.
    • Ported contracts can be “approved”, either by original contract creator or by other users.
    • Goal: have an “official” version of the contract on every platform.
  • Rate contracts
    • Allow users to rate a contract
    • Scale 1 (bad) to 5 (great)?
    • Promote users with many ratings to “critic”?
      • Integrate a rating system similar to RottenTomatoes with critic and user scores?
    • Goal: have a category of “certified fresh” contracts with high-quality content.
  • Comments?
    • Allow users to add a comment with (or without) their rating?
    • Needs to be moderated, adds liability.
  • Tagging?
    • Allow creators to add (pre-defined?) tags to a contract, e.g. “puzzle” or “sniper”.
  • Contract collections?
    • Create a collection and add any contract.
    • Great for grouping contracts by theme.
    • Maybe “subscribe” to collection?
  • Contract runs?
    • Allow users to add a “run” of the contract with video.
  • Upload an image with your contract?
    • Probably not in first version, adds a lot of complexity and liability.
  • Try to use Hitman servers for importing contracts?
    • Just enter a contract ID, app will pull data from Hitman servers.
    • Would be perfect but probably isn’t possible. (I suspect game/server communication is encrypted or at least needs authentication.)
    • Investigate requests the game sends when adding a contract by ID.
    • Try to contact IOI regarding some kind of API access. (Unrealistic)

Social

  • Add contracts to your favorites.
  • Subscribe to other contract creators and get notified when they post new contracts.

Community management

  • Content moderators?
    • Keep an eye on contract names and briefings.
    • Remove/hide malicious or low-effort contracts.
  • Needs to be a team effort, would like to focus on development.

Would You Join?

What do you think about a platform like this? Would you add your contracts? Rate other people’s contracts? Or be a moderator on the platform?

Looking forward to a discussion!

As this has been listed as a “Hitman General Discussion” I would sincerely hope that covers ALL aspects of ALL Hitman titles, particularly games.

I had asked in another section or thread for the possibility of the previous titles up to Blood Money being remastered.

Any thoughts on this?

In my opinion, these titles are the best in the series. I hated Absolution and really like the two newer titles but as an older fan of the series I connect more with the older titles and would happily spend my hard earned cash on a hd remaster of the older titles. By this I mean the older titles with todays graphics. As an older fan I feel Jesper Kyd’s music would be essential to any possibility of this happening, as his music was a core feature of the previous titles and he is still held in high regard within the Hitman community.

Waiting on a port of the HD trilogy versions of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Hitman: Contracts for PS4 and Xbox 1. I have only ever played these games on PS2 and seeing the difference between PS2 Blood Money and PS4 Blood Money with the HD collection really made me realise how much we need these 2 classics on new consoles as well. I know I have mentioned wanting this loads but still. Much love x
