47s Silly Questions

  • To identify stuff in the Hitman universe that doesn’t make much sense and question them.

You can choose to focus on either or both of these aspects. Of course, you’re also free to try answering other people’s questions, in which you can be as brief, serious, funny as you want, or can develop an entire story from it.

Examples:
Why do the medic bays in Miami have so much lethal poison lying around? How could they possibly be of use?

One of the doctors is a budding serial killer who has developed an undetectable poison and plans to use it for the first time during the race event.

We’ve seen in Hitman:Absolution that Diana has a tennis court. Who does this lone soul play tennis with?

What happened to all the children in Whittleton Creek?

Why do people pushed into a swimming pool die immediately?

A good pistol. Better than the ones we always pick up from the guards yet it has been sitting stagnant in our inventory since we unlocked it all them years ago. One time I actually used the HWK 21 in a kill everyone challenge on Colorado. Needless to say it failed miserably and I was quickly reverted to the main menu. Ever since, I have left it to collect dust. Every now and then I will glance at it as I select my silverballer mark 2 and think about all the fun times we had.

Rest in peace HWK 21, never used but never forgotten.

Warner being the publisher for Hitman 2018 might complicate things, though there are a handful older games published by Warner on GOG.

Additionally, i am not sure how reliant on steam the always on progression system is.

Campaign Concept: The Colours

The White Briefing:

We’ve got some old friends you have to take care of, 47. The Colours, a sextet of Franchise assassins who escaped our hunt for them in 2005. They have now come back with a vengeance, killing tens of our assassins and agents. Their newest marks are you and me. The ICA can look after me, but you, on the other hand, will be helping us take these rogues down. They are, as conveniently codenamed:

Hector “White” Breed
Christopher “Black” Butler
Alejandro “Brown” Cadaval
Belle “Red” Springrock
Kallie “Yellow” Shen Xinyue
Marcus “Pink” English

We have tracked down Hector Breed in his hideout in Hawkes Bay. Breed is a recluse, but known to be extremely paranoid. In all likelihood he has set traps and alarms over the house to catch intruders. He is also a master spy, who tracked down most of our agents, and an incredible combatant, having killed the most ICA agents out of all the Colours. Better be on your guard with this man. Good luck, 47.

The Black Briefing:

Welcome back, 47. Your time in Hawkes Bay has been successful. We have located your second target in Miami. His name is Christopher Butler, simply known as “Black” in the Colours. Butler has infiltrated Kronstadt Industries, which explains where they have been getting the weaponry. Thankfully, he has not learned about his colleague’s death yet, but we better eliminate him before he does. Good luck, 47.

The Brown Briefing:

We have the third Colour profile now. Your target is Alejandro Cadaval, a former Mexican Cartel hitman turned Franchise assassin. A cousin of Rico Delgado, Cadaval has moved to Santa Fortuna to catch up with him. Delgado, the nephew of one of our past targets, would be very interested to hear what we have done. Should he or anyone of import learn about you or the ICA, you will be authorised to silence them before they become a problem. If not, then it’s just Cadaval. Good luck.

The Red Briefing:

We have received the fourth Colour profile: Belle Springrock, the Native American member of the Colours. She has a wide array of criminal connections, from information brokers to triad leaders. No wonder we were found so easily. Not anymore. Springrock is now in Mumbai to settle a score with fellow assassin Karan “the Kashmirian” Dhar. While considered the face of the Colours, she is much more than a diplomat. She would give you more than a good fight in combat, so be discreet. Good luck, 47.

The Yellow Briefing:

Good afternoon, 47. The fifth Colour profile is available. Your target is Kallie Shen. She has rented herself a nice house in the suburb of Whittleton Creek in the middle of her ICA hunting spree. After learning about what happened to her friends, she has been holding up in her home. I say it’s time we take her out. Good luck, 47.

The Pink Briefing:

Good evening, 47. Your target is Marcus English, the last of the Colours. With the deaths of his five comrades, he is obviously alerted to the fact we’re hunting them down and that he’s next. English has infiltrated the Ark Society party, where he apparently plans to kidnap one of the guests. We better act fast, 47. The last of the Colours. Good luck.


Note: All six of the briefings end with the target attacking 47:

  • The White briefing ends with 47 tripping an alarm in the house. Hector Breed arrives and fires at 47 with a shotgun.
  • The Black briefing ends with 47 entering a Kronstadt test room Christopher Butler is in. Butler activates PALLAS and, after 47 hides behind a table and escapes the blast, pulls out a pistol and menacingly approaches.
  • The Brown briefing ends with 47 sneaking through the cocaine fields. Alejandro Cadaval jumps out and slashes 47 with a machete.
  • The Red briefing ends with 47 following Bella Springrock up the Kashmirian’s apartment, where they are arguing. Springrock spots him, snatches the sniper rifle from the stand and fires at 47 point-range.
  • The Yellow briefing ends with 47 ringing the doorbell of Kallie Shen’s house. Shen looks through a peephole and fires through the door with a shotgun, a blast 47 dodges just in time.
  • The Pink briefing, 47 is seen looking out at the sea on the balcony. Marcus English sneaks up behind him and stabs him in the back with a dagger.

Trivia:

  • All six targets are Americans.
  • All six targets are armed with handguns, but have the ability to pick weapons from the ground and use them.
  • The targets have a dynamic combat system, being able to pick and throw items, utilise bombs, set traps and climb and vault.
  • The six targets are codenamed after their ethnicity: Breed is Caucasian, Butler is African-American, Cadaval is Hispanic, Springrock is Native American, Shen is Chinese-American and English is albino.
  • Those who may learn about 47 from Cadaval are Rico Delgado, Caitlin Delgado, Hector Delgado, Jorge Franco and Andrea Martinez.
  • English’s potential kidnap victims include the Washingtons, the Constant and Jeb. Block.

The memories from playing Silent Assassin and Contracts are fantastic, but with what @Travis_IOI, @ioi_christianco, @Clemens_IOI and all the crew at IO Interactive have done with Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2, it would be awesome to see maps like Beldingford Manor and Traditions of the Trade under the new graphics and game mechanics. :wink: :wink:

HITMAN 2 May 2019 Game Update 2.30 (maintenance: 28/05, 11AM - 2PM UTC approx)

Game Update 2.30: What’s Changing?

Menu Optimizations
We’ve made some backend changes to the Destination Pages that should result in faster loading times. The impact of these improvements will vary from player to player.

Legacy: Cheveyo Calibration
We’ve fixed an issue where completing the Cheveyo Calibration Escalation would cause the game to disconnect from the server. This Escalation is only available to owners of the GOTY Legacy Pack and will grant the Sieger 300 Ghost upon successful completion.

Gun-shy Guards
We’ve fixed an issue where in rare cases, 47 could trigger the Combat state in direct sight of guards but they would not engage in combat.

Final Test SASO
We’ve fixed an issue that was preventing the ‘Silent Assassin, Suit Only’ challenge from unlocking in the Final Test, despite the player fulfilling the requirements.

What Do You Need?
We’ve fixed an issue where Agent 47 can get spotted from below when in the bathroom near Rangan’s office in Mumbai.

Mr Magician
We’ve fixed an issue where 47 could ‘dump’ a body through a wall in Neha’s home in Mumbai.

Tracked
We’ve fixed an issue where NPC’s could see through the trainyard door near the tracks in Mumbai.

Routine Retraction
We’ve fixed an issue that could cause guards in the Mumbai trainyard and construction areas to suspend their routines.

Minimap Misfortune
We’ve fixed an issue that could cause the target indicators (red icons) to not be displayed on the minimap if the ‘Minimap NPC Indicators’ option is turned off while the ‘Minimap Target Indicators’ option is turned on.

Escalation Check
We’ve made sure that completed Escalations are marked as completed with a check in all menus. Only when they’re actually completed, of course.

Lil’ Stashy
We’ve fixed an issue where Lil’ Flashy could not be placed in a Hidden Stash.

Knox Hidden
We’ve fixed an issue that could prevent NPC’s from detecting Robert Knox’s body when they ‘saw’ it if he was killed in a specific way.

Electrocute Phone
We’ve moved the ICA Electrocution Phone from the Explosives category to the Tools category and removed the ‘Explosive Device’ tag from the item for good measure.

Powdered Up
We’ve fixed an issue in Santa Fortuna where a poisoned line of cocaine would have no affect on the NPC using it. For clarity, the fix will cause the NPC to be affected by the poison, not the cocaine. #BestFixEver

Contract Search Tile
We’ve fixed an issue where players could not interact with the Contracts Search tile on the Featured Hub.

Accessibility Prompts
We’ve added the ‘Subtitle Size’ and ‘Interaction Prompt Size’ options to be part of the intial boot screen, allowing players to set these options when the launch the game for the very first time.

Within Scope
We’ve changed the description for how to unlock the ‘Within Scope’ challenge in Mumbai to more accurately describe what’s required. The current description states that “all targets” need to be eliminated, but in fact it’s only a single target.

Sniper Assassin: XP Text
We’ve made a change to how the XP Action text is displayed on screen to prevent it from taking up a large amount of on-screen space, especially when earned over a short period of time.

Sniper Assassin: Leaving Hantu
We’ve fixed an issue that could cause the player to get stuck in Hantu Port if they immediately skip the outro video after completing the mission.

Ghost Mode Improvements

Prompt Removal
We’ve fixed an issue where some prompts and messages would remain on screen after accepting an invite to a match.

Hello Goodnight
We’ve fixed an issue where players could activate the inventory and emote menus during the ‘fly-in’ video.

Cavern Crate
We’ve fixed an issue on the Colombia Ghost Mode map where a Ghost Crate was incorrectly displayed in the cavern on two separate levels.

Ghost Crash
We’ve fixed an issue where the game could crash when a player accepts an invitation.

Ghost Coin Description
We’ve changed the text description of the Ghost Coin to make it clear that when it has been thrown by Player A, the coin will appear in Player B’s world as a regular coin.

Lobby Images
We’ve made changes to fix an issue that could cause an opponents image to not appear in the Lobby.

PC-Specific Improvements

HUD Lines
We’ve fixed an issue where small grey and red lines could appear on the inventory and minimap HUD when the ‘searching’ text appears on the minimap.

Known Issues

We’ve listed some of the game’s known issues below, so that you know we’re aware. We’ve always got eyes on the Technical Support and Bug Report threads on the Forums and Reddit too, so if you’ve reported something there, we almost definitely know about it.

  • We are aware that PC players are experiencing issues with “0x8000000_” (and related) crashes. We’re continuing to work on a permanent solution to this with our friends and partners at Nvidia. We recommend that players who have been experiencing this issue use DX12, as this has been reported to fix the issue.
  • We are aware of inconsistencies between the SA rating in campaign missions and Contracts Mode.
  • We are aware of an issue with dropping items needed for specific exits in Contracts Mode.

I wanted to show how difficult some requested features are to implement in Hitman by giving some examples in coding. If you have a requested feature you want to see here, or you have more optimised code, please tell me so.


**READ FIRST** Music in Ghost Mode

Music in Ghost Mode

This seems pretty easy to implement right? A lot of people glance at this feature at first and think it would be easy: it’s just music right? But a lot more is actually needed just to play a soundtrack.

1:
In order to play the Audio, some object will have to be in the scene that can play the Audio. In Unity, we use AudioSources to play AudioClips.

One solution is to have an empty GameObject with the AudioSource script on it and trigger it via a script if a boolean is set to true.

2:
You can optimise the code by finding the GameObject the first frame update of the scene.

This adds an instant at the start of the scene, removing the need to apply it in the editor.


3:
You can be even more efficient by instantiating the GameObject if the player has music turned on.

musicSource = Instantiate(Resources.Load("/Prefabs/musicSource", typeof GameObject), new Vector3(0, 0, 0), Quaternion.identity);
musicSource.Play();

Taking the GMMusic boolean into account, this will need to either be kept in a PlayerPrefs file or in the Steam cloud. For convenience sake, I’ll be using the Steam cloud, but also because this allows all PCs signed into the account to save this setting. whereas PlayerPrefs is stored locally on one computer.

First, let’s create the boolean.

public bool GMMusic = true/false;

Then, we’ll get the value of GMMusic from the Steam Cloud database (example function, not used in real code).

GMMusic = Steam.GetBoolFromCloud("GhostModeMusic");

Whenever we change this with a UI Button (OnClickEvent()), we can simply update the Cloud.

Fortnite Replay mode is nearly flawless IMO with the possibility of camera angles.

I don’t plan on going on to much about this because it would really only obtain to a certain group. (Content Creators) . I could just imagine Urben being let loose with it. I didn’t know I needed this before until recently. Let me explain, imagine you’re launching Dawood Rangan from his tower over all of Mumbai to hit the Train that kills Vanya. Say he hits the train 1 time out of 50 attempts, that’s if you’re super lucky. Just to watch the Replay Recording and realize you’re camera angel was shit… or could’ve been So So So much better. My OCD makes me not only need to be a precise pyrotechnic, but an amazing camera man as well… I would rather be an editor than a camera man. Thoughts?
